Location:West of Ventura; family campsites are 2 miles west on US 101 and the group camp is at the west end of Main Street in Ventura.
Facilities:90 primitive family campsites for self-contained vehicles (no tentspermitted), 4 developed group campsites (tent camping and primitive RVcamping), picnic areas, hiking trails, bike trails. Group campfacilities include restrooms and water (no hook-ups);primitive campsites have no restrooms or water.
Activities:Camping, fishing, swimming, surfing, hiking, bicycling.
Special Features:The Ventura River Estuary at the southeast end of the beach attracts avariety of wildlife, including raccoons, songbirds, and great blueheron, and dolphins are occasionally seen just offshore. Site also includes the crumbling ruins of a World War II coastalartillery site.
