Arizona Stock Exchange

A former electronic exchange that allowed investors to trade NYSE, AMEX, and NASDAQ stocks after trading had ceased on other exchanges. It had low volume throughout its history and was exempt from SEC registration for that reason. It opened in 1990 and ultimately closed in 2001 due to lack of volume.

Arizona Stock Exchange (AZX)

An electronic exchange for the online trading of NYSE, Nasdaq, and AMEX stocks. The exchange attempts to balance bids and offers to find a consensus price in scheduled daily auctions. All successful participants in a particular auction receive the same price.
