Emiritone

an electric musical instrument. The emiritone was designed by the Soviet inventors A. A. Ivanov, A. V. Rimskii-Korsakov, V. L. Kreitser, and V. P. Dzerzhkovich. Its name is a combination of the first letters of “electric musical instrument,” the initial letters of the last names of two of the designers, and the word “tone.” The first emiritone, which was equipped with a keyboard similar to that of a piano, was built in 1935.
