Formoterol, a selective beta-2 agonist drug used to treat ASTHMA. A beta-2 agonist is a drug that stimulates a certain group of adrenaline receptors in the muscle cells of the air tubes of the lungs, causing the tubes to widen. As a group, these drugs are also known as bronchodilators. The term is commonly abbreviated to beta-agonist. Eformeterol is formulated in powder form in a capsule and is administered by inhaler.
