Bielschowsky test Bi·els·chow·sky test (by'el-shov'skē), an assessment of vertical strabismus in which the angle of ocular deviation is determined for various head positions and angles of gaze to permit identification of the paralytic muscle in vertical diplopia. This procedure is most useful in diagnosing palsies of the superior oblique muscle.
