Curbakhsh Singh

 

Born Apr. 26, 1895. Punjabi author.

Curbakhsh Singh graduated from an engineering college. He began his literary career as a poet and playwright. His first work was published in 1911, and his first play, Rajkumari Latika, was issued in 1923. He founded the journal Preet lari in 1933. The creative activity of Curbakhsh Singh appeared during a period of growth of the national liberation movement (the story “The Patriot” and the autobiographical story “The Eternal Flame”). He has translated the works of Gorky, Hugo, Whitman, Hardy, and other foreign authors into Punjabi. Curbakhsh Singh is a participant in the Movement of the Supporters of Peace.
