Agitplakat
Agitplakat
a series of satirical posters by the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Moscow section of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR; released in Moscow beginning in 1956 (about 200 a year) by a collective of artists and poets (B. E. Efimov, the Kukryniksy, N. F. Denisovskii, A. A. Zharov, S. A. Vasil’ev, and others). The designers of the posters, continuing the traditions of Okna Rosta (The Windows of Rosta) and Okna Tass (The Windows of Tass), respond to topical political events and contribute to the improvement of culture, production, and life. The posters, in editions of as many as 7,000, are reproduced by silkscreen.
