Estonian State Regional Electric Power Plant

(full name, 50th Anniversary of the USSR Estonian State Regional Electric Power Plant), a steam power plant in Narva in the Estonian SSR. Built between 1964 and 1973, the plant has a rated capacity of 1,600 megawatts (MW), generated by eight units of 200 MW each. It is fueled by oil shale and receives water directly from the Narva Reservoir. The electricity is transmitted by highvoltage lines carrying 330 kilovolts. The power plant is linked with the Integrated Power Grid of the Northwest and through it with the Unified Power Grid of the USSR.
