Cumulose Sands
Cumulose Sands
accumulations of loose sand, chiefly around niter-bushes (Nitraria), wormwood, certain types of saltworts, and, more rarely, reeds. They are 30–50 cm high and occasionally up to 1–2 m. In some places they are made up of gravel. They usually form in areas where groundwater is close to the surface—in solonchaks and on the shores of lakes, seas, and rivers.
