A gene-based product containing HLA-B7, an antigen responsible for strong immune responses such as transplant organ rejection; Allovectin-7 injection into cancer might theoretically trigger the body's immune system to recognise the cancer as foreign and destroy it.It was granted orphan drug status for the management of melanoma and is in Phase-3 trials for managing advanced melanoma.
