Special Features:Park is considered the best preserved example of an Indian Wars periodfort in Arizona. Fort Verde was the primary base for General GeorgeCrook's US Army scouts and soldiers, and visitors today can experience3 historic house museum -- Commanding Officer's Quarters, Bachelors'Quarters, and Doctor's Quarters on Officer's row -- all furnished inthe 1880s period. Interpretive exhibits with period artifacts onmilitary life, Indian Scouts, and Indian Wars history are located inthe former Administration uilding.
