Dikanka

urban-type settlement, administrative center of Dikan’ka Raion, Poltava Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, situated 29 km north of Poltava. Dikan’ka has a creamery and a museum of local lore. The settlement was celebrated by N. V. Gogol in his work Evenings on a Farm Near Dikan’ka.
