Atbashi Hollow
Atbashi Hollow
an intermontane depression in the southern part of the Inner Tien-Shan in the Kirghiz SSR.
The Atbashi Hollow is located south of the Naryn River. It is watered by the Atbashi River and its left tributary, the Karakoiun River. The hollow extends from the west-southwest to the east-northeast. The hollow is bordered on the southeast by the Atbashi Range and on the northwest and north by the Baibichetau, Naryntau, and other ranges. The Atbashi Hollow is 120 km long and up to 20 km wide. It has an altitude of 2,000–2,400 m. The hollow is filled with Neocene and Anthropogenic deposits. There are semidesert and steppe landscapes. Both irrigated and dry farming are carried on in Atbashi Hollow.
