Agha Jari
Agha Jari
center of a large petroleum field discovered in southwestern Iran in 1943—44. It is connected by an oil pipeline with an oil refinery in Abadan. The oil field is being worked by an international oil consortium in which the USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and France are participating. In 1960, Agha Jari provided 64 percent of all the petroleum extracted in Iran.
