Aparan

urban-type settlement; administrative center of Aparan Raion, Armenian SSR. Located on the Kasakh River, 42 km southeast of the Spitak railroad station (on the Leninakan-Tbilisi line), and 59 km northwest of Yerevan. Population, 7,800 (1968). Aparan produces radio parts, cheese, and rugs.
