burned-out germinal center

Hematology A morphologically distinct germinal center that is typical of angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy; BOGCs are composed of loose aggregates of pale histiocytes and scattered immunoblasts or epithelioid cells mixed with amorphous eosinophilic and PAS-positive intercellular material, and thus resemble granulomas. See Germinal centers.
