Asimov, Mukhamed Saifitdinovich

 

Born Sept. 1, 1920. Soviet philosopher. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Tadzhik SSR (1965). President of the Academy of Sciences of the Tadzhik SSR (since 1965). Member of the CPSU since 1945. Graduated from the AlisherNavoi Uzbek University in 1941.

From 1946 to 1952, Asimov was assistant director of the Leninabad Pedagogical Institute. He was rector of the Dushanbe Polytechnic Institute from 1956 to 1962. Between 1962 and 1965 he was minister of public education of the Tadzhik SSR, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tadzhikistan, and deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Tadzhik SSR. He is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tadzhikistan. He was a deputy to the sixth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the Tadzhik SSR and to the seventh convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He has been awarded the Order of Lenin, three other orders, and medals.
