cephamycin
cephamycin (sĕf-ă-mī′sĭn) [From cepha(losporin) + ″] A group of antibiotics related to the second-generation cephalosporins, having increased bacterial activity against Enterobacteriaceae but diminished effectiveness against gram-positive bacteria. Members of this class of drugs, e.g., cefoxitin, cefotetan, are often used to treat mixed aerobic/anaerobic infections. |
