Dusek, Jan Ladislav

(yän lä`dēsläf do͞o`shĕk), 1760–1812, Czech pianist and composer; pupil of C. P. E. Bach. One of the earliest piano virtuosi, he was famous for his lyrical touch in such pieces as Elégie harmonique. His piano sonatas foreshadow the works of romantic composers such as Brahms, Schumann, and Chopin.
