Durmitor

a mountain massif in the Dinaric Alps, in Yugoslavia. Elevations to 2,522 m. It is composed mainly of limestones, and there is karst. It is strongly dissected by gorges of rivers of the Piva and Tara basins. There are ancient glacial lakes. Evergreen and deciduous forests cover the slopes. Durmitor has been a national park since 1952.
