Buotama

also Botoma, a river in the Yakut ASSR; right-bank tributary of the Lena. It is 418 km long and has a basin area of 12, 600 sq km. The Buotoma flows along the northern edge of the Aldan Plateau and the Lena Plateau. It is fed by snow and rain, and its high-water period is in May. The average annual flow is about 43 cu m per sec. The river freezes in October or November and opens up between late April and early May.
