Defective carpet Ask a LawyerQuestionCountry: United States of America State: UtahWe purchased some carpet from Carpet Giant, Carpet One. We asked for a high traffic carpet. 5 months later we had it inspected because it looks awful and they said it is doing a "corn rowing" effect and that it is not a high traffic carpet. They gave us a 300.00 credit for the hall but not for the rest of the house. I guess they think the hall is the only high traffice area. We would like it replaced or a credit for the other rooms as well. They will not budge and will not contact us other than by letter. We paid 2600.00 for this carpet and the salesman can not remember us asking for high traffic carpet. He says he sees 6 to 7 customers a day. I want to know how he remembers who I am over the phone. What are our options. We have not been able to get anywhere with them.AnswerBased on what you say here, you could probably file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior. |
