Bungalow style

(1890–1940)This residential style typified by a one-story house with gently pitched gables, had its roots in the Arts and Crafts movement. A lower gable usually covers a screen porch, which features battered piers at the corners. Rafters extend beyond the roof and are often exposed. Wood shingles are the favored exterior covering and are left natural. Windows are sash or casement with numerous lights.
