Consumer Protection Act 1987

a UK Act which extends existing powers to protect consumers in the areas of consumer safety (the Act makes it a criminal offence to supply unsafe goods) and misleading price indications (the Act makes deceptive price advertising an offence and requires price promises to be kept). In addition, the Act introduces new powers for consumers to obtain damages against suppliers whose products prove defective.
