The position of an extended runway centerline above which a landing aircraft is required to pass at the time assigned by approach control. It is a rectangular area, 1 mile wide and 3 miles long, bisected by the extended centerline of the runway and located so that the inner boundary of the area is at least 5 miles from the approach end of the runway.
