Buerger test

Buerger test

A noninvasive bedside test used to assess the adequacy of arterial blood flow into the legs. While the patient is lying flat on his back, both legs are elevated to an angle of 45°. Loss of the normal perfused color of either leg suggests that its arterial blood flow is compromised since a normal artery can pump blood against gravity without difficulty. See also: Buerger, Leo
