Location:I-76 northeast from Denver to Bromley Lane, east 1 mile to Picadilly Road, and south 2 miles to park entrance.
Facilities:32 picnic sites, multi-use trails, boat ramp, visitor/nature center (é), restrooms (é).
Activities:Boating (10-hp limit), sailboarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking,horseback riding, hunting (with restrictions), cross-country skiing,snowshoeing, ice fishing, wildlife viewing, bird watching, guided tramtours (seasonal), interpretive programs.
Special Features:Barr Lake is home to the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and is animportant wildlife refuge, with more than 300 species of birds sightedon park lands. The southwest side of the lake and the marshes along itsedge provide habitat for great blue herons, bald eagles, and pelicans.A family of eagles nests in the park each spring.
