Edjeleh
a settlement in Algeria, in the northeastern part of the Sahara, near the Algerian-Libyan border. Edjeleh is the center of the Edjeleh petroleum-producing basin, which consists of the Edjeleh, Tiguentourine, and Zarzaitin fields, opened between 1956 and 1958. Approximately 10 million tons of petroleum are extracted from the basin annually. The oil is pumped from the basin to the Mediterranean port of Cekhira, Tunisia.
