Diffused transmission

Diffused transmission

A luminaire that dispenses light in all directions and eliminates any directional quality of the beam. Full diffused transmission is achieved by using opal glass and plastics that incorporate microscopic particles. Semidiffused transmission consists of translucent materials that emit light at wider angles due to the configuration on at least one side of the material. A greater degree of diffusion is achieved by etches, sandblasting, and matting aerosol sprays. Provides concealment of the lamp and glare control.
