Enterprise Grant Scheme

Enterprise Grant Scheme

an instrument of UK INDUSTRIAL/REGIONAL policy introduced in 2000 to facilitate the growth of small and medium sized firms (SMEs), i.e. firms with under 250 employees. Cash grants (up to £75,000) are available to SMEs which meet various criteria, including the introduction of e-commerce, the development of innovatory processes and products and workforce training. The Scheme incorporates a ‘regional’ element in that it is available only to SMEs located in the ASSISTED AREAS.
