Clione
Clione (Clione limacina), a genus of invertebrates of the order Aplacophora of pteropod mollusks. The body (up to 4 cm long) is transparent and conical; the head is separate and has two pairs of feelers. Clione are found in a wide range, living suspended in seas at great depths; in the USSR they live in northern and Far Eastern seas. They occur in huge numbers and serve as food for several species of whalebone whales. |
