clinicopathological conference

A formal discussion of a Pt's clinical, radiologic, and lab data, usually in front of a large group of junior and senior colleagues. Cf Professorial rounds.

A teaching conference in which clinical findings are presented to a physician previously unfamiliar with a case, who then attempts to diagnose the disease that would explain the clinical findings. The exact diagnosis is then presented by the pathologist, who has either examined the tissue removed at surgery or has performed the autopsy.

clinicopathological conference

A teaching symposium in which a full account of the clinical aspects of a particular case is given and followed by an account by a pathologist of his or her findings on examination of biopsy tissue or at postmortem examination.
