Duffy, (Bernard Cornelius) Ben

(1902–72) advertising executive; born in New York City. A media specialist, he spent his 43-year advertising career at BBDO, New York City, the advertising agency that as president (1946–56), he led through a period of major growth. He wrote the long-standard Advertising Media and Markets (1939, many times revised) and directed publicity for Eisenhower's presidential campaigns.
