Decca
DeccaA radio phase-comparison system which uses a master and slave stations to establish a hyperbolic lattice and provide accurate ground position-fixing facilities.Decca
Decca[′dek·ə] (navigation) A hyperbolic navigation system which establishes a line of position from measurement of the phase difference between two continuous-wave signals; the intersection of the two lines of position from two pairs of transmitting stations establishes a navigational fix, or location. DeccaA trade name for an extinct long-range, ambiguous, two-dimensional radio navigation system that used continuous-wave transmission to provide hyperbolic lines of position, and position-fixing facilities, through the radio frequency phase comparison techniques from four transmitters. The system operated in the frequency band 68 to 150 kilocycles.DECCA
