Brown, Charles L. Brown, Charles L. (Lee, Jr.)(1921– ) corporate executive; born in Richmond, Va. Trained as an electrical engineer, he joined American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) in 1946. As president (1977–79) and chairman (1979–86), he presided over two sweeping reorganizations, the second after a 1982 antitrust lawsuit forced the breakup of AT&T and the creation of the "Baby Bells." |
