Evdokim Ziablovskii
Ziablovskii, Evdokim Filippovich
Born July 31, 1764 (?), in Orel Province; died Mar. 30, 1846. Russian statistician and historian; professor of geography, history, and statistics at the St. Petersburg Pedagogical Institute (from 1804) and later at the University of St. Petersburg (1819–33).
Ziablovskii was an exponent of the conservative school in political science. He left a large collection of “land descriptions” of the Russian state and Europe, which were used as textbooks and reference books for statistical studies.
