Fallopius (fəlō`pēəs), Ital. Gabriello or Gabriele Fallopio (gäbrēĕl`lō, gäbrēā`lā fäl-lō`pyō), 1523–62, Italian anatomist; pupil and successor of Andreas Vesalius and teacher of Hieronymous Fabricius at Padua. His important discoveries include the fallopian tubes, leading from uterus to ovaries.
