Broglie Louis Victor De

Bro·glie

(brô-glē′), Louis Victor De 1892-1987. French physicist who was the first to theorize that subatomic particles can behave as waves. Influenced by Albert Einstein's concept that waves can behave as particles, De Broglie proposed that the opposite was also true: that electrons, for example, can behave as waves. De Broglie's work developed the study of wave mechanics, which was important in the development of quantum physics.
