Broadwell

Broadwell

The fifth microarchitecture in Intel's Core family of CPU chips, introduced in 2014 and superseding Haswell. Broadwell shrinks the element size down to 14 nm by using taller, thinner transistor fins spaced closer together (see Tri-Gate transistor). Broadwell computers have a bit more performance but use about 30% less power. See Core M, Intel Core, microarchitecture, Intel microarchitectures and Skylake.
