Esaulovskii Aksai

 

(Gniloi Aksai), a river in Volgograd Oblast, RSFSR. The Esaulovskii Aksai flows into the Tsimliansk Reservoir; it was at one time a left tributary of the Don. Length, 179 km; basin area, 2,590 sq km. It originates in the Ergeni Uplands and has a winding channel. The Esaulovskii Aksai is fed mainly by snow. The average water flow is approximately 38 cu m per sec. In summer it goes dry in the upper reaches; it freezes in early December, and the ice breaks up in mid-March. The river is used for irrigation.
