Elizovo

 

(Zavoiko until 1924), an urban-type settlement; center of Elizovo Raion, Kamchatka Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Avacha River 32 km northwest of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski!, with which it is linked by a motor road. Population, 14,000 (1970). Elizovo is the chief town of an important farming region in the oblast and the site of a dairy and a vegetable sovkhoz. It was renamed in honor of G. Elizov, commander of a partisan detachment who perished on Kamchatka in 1922 at the hands of White Guard bandits.

an urban-type settlement in Osipovichi Raion, Mogilev Oblast, Byelorussian SSR. Situated on the Berezina River, a tributary of the Dnieper. Railroad station on the Mogilev-Osipovichi line. Elizovo has a glassworks.
