[dī′byüd·əl ′a‚mēn] (organic chemistry) C8H19N A colorless, clear liquid with amine aroma; either di-n-butylamine, (C4H9)2NH, boiling at 160°C, insoluble in water, soluble in hydrocarbon solvents, or di-sec-butylamine, (CH3CHCH2CH3)2NH, boiling at 133°C, flammable; used in the manufacture of dyes.
