Conditional Release with Compulsory Labor

Conditional Release with Compulsory Labor

In Soviet criminal law, a convicted person may be released from a partially served sentence of deprivation of freedom if further correction and reformation under supervision are possible without continued isolation from society. In accordance with the established procedure, conditional release with compulsory labor is applicable to able-bodied adults who are serving punishment in places of deprivation of freedom; it is not applicable to those serving in special exile colonies for persons convicted of crimes of negligence or to those serving sentences in other types of exile colonies.
