Special Features:Hawaii's most famous landmark is a large tuff cone formed by a shortseries of explosive eruptions some 100,000 years ago. Diamond Head'spicnic area is in a landscaped meadow on the crater floor; a hike tothe summit (0.7 miles one way) offers panoramic views of Honolulu andthe Kahala plain. Park has been designated a National Natural Landmark.
