Brighttype
Brighttype
a method of obtaining a transparency of a text by photographing a letterpress plate. The transparency is then used to prepare plates for offset and gravure printing. The letterpress plate is coated with flat black paint, which is then removed from the printing surfaces (images of letters or symbols). Thus, the paint is retained only in the recesses of the plate. The plate is then placed on the screen of a vertical photoreproduction camera and is photographed.
