Falconbridge process

[′fȯk·ən‚brij ‚präs· əs] (metallurgy) Recovery of nickel from a nickel-copper matte; the matte is first crushed and roasted to remove sulfur, and the copper is acid-leached, filtered off, and electrolyzed; the residual solids are melted, cast as anodes, and refined electrolytically to produce nickel.
