Brianka

a city (since 1962) in Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 10 km south of the city of Kadievka, on the Lozovaia River (Severnyi Donets basin). Railroad station (Avdakovo). Population, 86,100 (1969). There is coal mining, with ten mines located within the city limits. Other industry includes mining equipment repair and the production of drilling equipment and reinforced-concrete products. Brianka arose as a settlement at the end of the 19th century.
