Crimes Against Socialist Property
in Soviet criminal law, socially dangerous offenses that damage the economic foundation of the Soviet state, socialist property. The criminal codes of the Union republics treat the crimes against socialist property in a special chapter, for example, Chapter 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Offenses against personal property entrusted to state or public organizations (for example, stealing an article from a public checkroom) are also classified as crimes against socialist property.
