a collection in three parts published by the History Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Moscow between 1951 and 1961.

The first part of the collection contains the first, basic part of the ancient book of records of the Moscow metropolitan see (14th—16th century); the second part reprints documents from the archives of the Volokolamsk monastery (late 15th to early 17th century); and the third part reprints the second part of the book of records and other documentary materials of the Moscow metropolitan see (17th century). This collection of documents reveals the growth of monastic land ownership, its role in the development and strengthening of a unified Russian state, the economic organization of the ecclesiastical feudal lords, and the conditions of the peasants on their ancestral lands. Some documents contain data on the struggle of the peasants against feudal oppression.
