Flax Pickup Machine and Thresher

Flax Pickup Machine and Thresher

a machine for picking up and threshing dried-out strips of flax spread by a flax puller. In the USSR the LMN-1 flax pickup machine and thresher is used, mounted on a DT-20 tractor. The pickup machine and thresher consists of a finger-type picker that lifts the strip of flax, a gripping conveyor, threshing and binding devices for threshing the strip and tying the threshed straw into sheaves, a screen to remove tangled stems from the heap, and elevators and screw conveyors that deliver the heap to sacks after the screen. The gripping conveyor moves the threshed stems to the binding device. If the straw is not being tied into sheaves but spread on the field, the binding device is turned off. The productivity of the pickup machine and thresher is 0.2-0.6 hectares per hour.
